Rapid Radicals Technology wins grand prize at 2022 Governor’s Business Plan Contest

Congratulations to Rapid Radicals Technology for winning the grand prize and the Advanced Manufacturing category at the 2022 Governor’s Business Plan Contest! Thirteen teams — the Diligent (Baker’s) Dozen, representing innovative products and services in diverse sectors — competed in the final pitch round at the 19th annual Wisconsin Entrepreneurs Conference on June 1.

Two of the top four winners, as well as runners-up, were familiar to our team. Businesses that have worked with the Center for Technology Commercialization (CTC), Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network, Food Finance Institute or all three:

Advanced Manufacturing Winner: Rapid Radicals Technology of Milwaukee, creating a rapid, decentralized wastewater treatment system that can treat water 16 times faster than conventional treatment
Second place: ChloBis Water of Madison, providing an innovative and energy-efficient solution to address challenges at the intersection of the water-energy nexus with a new desalination battery
Third place: CompRex of La Crosse, specializing in the design, engineering and manufacturing of compact heat exchangers and heat exchange reactors targeted for high temperature and pressure applications

Information Technology Winner: HeyGov of Sturgeon Bay, transforming local government through a suite of digital tools
Second place: FANTM of Madison, developing next-generation wearable human-computer interfaces that enable users to interact with digital systems using gesture and motion in AR, VR and more
Third place: Betterbin of Kronenwetter, providing product-specific composting instructions based on where you live through a technology-based app

Life Sciences second place: My Hearing Care of Milwaukee, developing an over-the-counter hearing aid that makes better hearing more accessible and more affordable for people suffering from mild to moderate hearing loss
Third place: Contrast Dynamics of Verona, developing technology to image as well as measure and quantify the velocity of blood flow in blood vessels
